CCR doesn't have a genre, they create a feeling.

If you want some rockin' CCR, check out "Traveling band". Other songs to check out are "Lodi" and "Put a spell on you", "I heard it through the grapevine".

In this song, he sings about Willy and the Poor boys . Willy and the Poor boys is the name of their 4th Album. Fun Fact ❤️

"Who'll Stop the Rain?" "Proud Mary" "Heard It Through the Grapevine" "Green River" "Lodi" "Long As I Can See the Light" "Run Through the Jungle" "Travelin' Band" CCR was everywhere on the radio, in the 60s & 70s...

It;s been said multiple times, CCR have NO bad songs. As far as their music goes, their genre is Swamp Rock.

I saw John perform at the New Orleans Jazz Festival several years ago. He did many CCR songs & sounded great even in his 70"s. The crowd ranged in ages from college students to folks in there 70's. The energy level was amazing. Folks 50 years apart in age were rocking to his timeless music & distinctive style.

"Keep on Chooglin'" is still my favorite CCR tune.

Fogerty also has a good solo career. Check out “That Creedence Song” by John Fogerty. He said it was inspired by a trip to a dinner where he overheard the waitress ask someone at the juke box to “play that Creedence song I like”. She didn’t realize the lead singer was the customer she she waited on.

in 1968 when I was 11 years old, living in the San Francisco Bay Area, it was a fantastic to listen to all these new bands....I mention my age because I used to listen to KFRC in San Francisco, (lived in Oakland), Dr. Don Rose was a very famous radio personality and in those days, they'd give you a clue to call up and win an album, and in the Fall of 1968, the first album I ever won was their first album, Credence Clearwater Revival and it as a BIG deal in those days to win....so awesome to remember that every time I hear a CCR song. Legends for sure.. By the way, for reference, El Cerrito where they are from is just north of Berkeley which is just north of Oakland all across the bay from San Francisco....

Back in the mid nineties I would put my boom box on the table beside me when I did my art projects in college. I would play CCR, Glenn miller, Marty Robbins, Peter, Paul and Mary, Herb Albert any kind of music! I would get some complaints for stuff a few people didn't like.
