13 On Your Side Forecast: Frigid Air Moves Into West Michigan!

Situation NORMAL, where's all the snowfall that was forecast? Didn't happen. Oh yeah, situation NORMAL, nothing to write to mommy and grandmommy about a typical whimpy winter weather. Yes whimpy compared to the 40 FEET OF SNOW that fell on Lebanon's Mountains off of Eastern Mediterranean Sea in February, 2012 in JUST FIVE DAYS!!! In Japan a typical snowstorm there is 7-8 FEET OF SNOW in JUST TWO DAYS!! Well those of those Atmospheric Rivers or the Jet Stream. Winds blowing from Southeastern China traveling northeasterly across the Sea of Japan and hit Japan and all the while picking up moisture in snow clouds on and land on Western Japan. The mountain peaks there are around 9, 000 feet and is known as the "Alps of Japan". YouTube video below shows what a part of Western Japan is like.
