Tohoku Rakuten Eagles star Masahiro Tanaka dazzles in his first start of the season, holding the reigning Pacific League champion Orix Buffaloes to a run on four hits with six Ks over seven innings – even hitting 154 kph on the radar gun along the way – to win his season debut 2-1 at Kyocera Dome Osaka on March 29. Tanaka said he wanted to make sure to win the game because it was his wife’s birthday.
