I subsumed gloom over his ice wave, and made an armor strip aoe slow build. 95% slow with 100% armor strip, and enemies that enter snow globe are so slow they basically stop entirely. Frost is fun and pretty useful for a lot of setups I use, one consisting of the sobek. Amazing frame, but for sure needs worked on

They should give Frost the ability to "skate" on ice as a sprint!

For all Frost mains out there:
Bubble does 50% TRUE DMG on push back. Add some viral on the enemy and if it can be pushed and has no dmg blocking (Nox) it will always kill infinite lvl enemies in 1 hit

You missed being able to stack snow globes to add more health to it. Every snow globe cast inside the one before consumes the previous one and adds it's health to the new one

I got Frost Prime back when it was distributed to Twitch Prime users, and it was the frame that got me back into the game for real. Sometimes you just gotta find that itty bitty loop in your shirt that will get you caught up in this grindfest.

Extra note : Icy Avalanche also grant status immunity when shield is up .

I ran a 200% strength Frost with Empower from Helminth to bump Avalanche ( with augment ) to 250% strength, which can strip 100% armor .
It does okay in SP Grineer, and with good piloting it probably can survive for a while ( which I can't ) .

The small energy pool is definitely a big problem though.

Frost is one of my fav frames even tho i dont play him anymore and im aware hes rather low on the "best warframes" list
He could rly use some rework

One thing worth noting : enemies yeeted by snow globe don't take UP TO 50% max health, they WILL TAKE 50%max health TRUE DAMAGE (ignoring resistances and such) upon colliding with terrain. That means, if you spray a group of enemies with some viral, after preemptively grouping them all up together (for example with a helmithed Khora ensnare), you can actually ONE SHOT absolutely EVERYTHING in this game than can me CC'd and inflicted with a status effect, by dealing to them 100% of their maximum health as true damage. I find that really funny.

Frost abilities need some buffs but a rework might make the iconic snow globe boi unrecognisable

Frost is great Generalist frame, you cannot go wrong with him. Sure there are frames that do certain things better, but they lack in other things. Gara might have better protection tools, but she cannot strip armor right. I am happy to see Icy Avalanche being mentioned and used, people disregarded it as trash in the past, I still used it tho.

I feel like i need to say this, since I didn't see anyone mention it, Icy Avalanche does not give the Ice Coat from enemies that are still frozen from your previous 4 cast - Thermal Sunder tho has Synergy with Icy Avalanche. If you enter a room but you accidentally cast 4 on half of the enemies, you can just cast Heat Sunder, which does trigger the Blast combo from Thermal Sunder, and end the Frozen state of the enemies. Heat and Blast proc aside, it allows you to obtain more Icy Avalanche coating points even if you mess up. Thermal Sunder on Frost in general is Great, replacing his 2 - You need a quick and dirty cold area? Cold Sunder. You want some armor strip but don't want to commit to casting 4? Heat Sunder. Heat comes with some CC too. Also you can use the Blast combo of Thermal Sunder to either push or SUCC enemies depending on what you want.


People that say "Frost has energy problem" - Yes he is Hungry so Feed him. I do not even use Arcane Energize on him and never run out of energy, and i cast 4 alot. All i use is Dethcube with Energy Generator and Helstrum.

For those that say he is not good in Steel Path - Are you trying to kill SP enemies with frames? You have guns for that, Frost is perfectly fine for any Steel Path mission, if his CC and Armor strip is not enough for you, it is plenty for others, you cannot just brush it off just because you don't know how to play with the frame.

I have been using Frost for everything with the exception of Spy. From Steel Path to Arbitrations with no buff, he just does it all - or should I say, Frost enables me to do it all. You can make an argument that "he falls of after 2 hours of Steel Path survival" but all the frames do, unless you make a specific endurance build, which does not end with the warframe anyways, as your entire loadout needs to be tuned for it.

Frost does not need a full rework, just his passive needs to something else. Otherwise he has not grown old by any means, he can help you destroy as much as he did 5 years ago. Frost is Great, it is just some people like the new and shiny frames and feel like they need to shit on anything that is not what they like and use.

With Viral stacks and/or Roar, Snow Globe yeeting the enemy can potentially deal 100% of their health in damage when they hit a wall. The best part?
_It cares not about the enemy's stats nor level_

My boyfriend uses Frost for defense, leaning heavily into the Avalanche armor augment. we'll occasionally get close to 5k armor, which by the way, nullifies statuses! so extra handy! I'm one part short for my frost prime....so my frost powers are low.

Was I just not paying attention, or did you not mention globe stacking when talking about his 3? The only thing that makes his globe viable in more difficult content is being able to cast globes inside of other globes to scale up their HP. That said, until DE decides to not let nullifiers and certain acolytes just instantly delete your globes, they aren't as consistent as Gara's 2 for protecting objectives.

This warframe was something I needed and kept using it I know there are better defenders but never crafted them, love Frost and the augment of the ultimate is really nice.
