It is not about affordability! Indians look value for money. If Apple intention is to sell iPhone upgrades every 6 months to Indians, then they are going to go wrong! A phone purchased for $1000 is expected to last 4-5 yrs …unfortunately apple don’t want it to be that way.

" Not early risers" to be honest no one goes to stores at 8:30 am to buy an apple product when you have to go to school college workplace or the like most people are productive in that time, apart from the reporter.

The store could've been there earlier also... But previously govt wasn't allowing 100% FDI directly...
For example, Starbucks have their partnership with Indian conglomerate TATA... Where tata holds about 49 or 51% of the stake...

But now the law has been amended to something which says that there can be 100% FDI, provided atleast 30% of the revenue is sourced from India...

Edit: if you have 2 mins extra, you can have a look in reply section....😉😄 Specially long reply to @Dips which is 7th in the list...

Opening a store in BKC itself indicates that it’s for the elite and not the common man. If a common man does afford an iPhone, they will use it for 6-7 years min. That’s value for money. Apple should reduce prices by 25-30 percent to gain major market share. Otherwise this will only be a hype and a place for window shopping.

Only one question to Apple you're selling your products in India for the same price as in USA but why not pay the employees in India the same Salary as you pay in USA?

It's nothing about business but all about giving message to China that we can choose to deviate from your country. And to those lambasting indians about indian cannot afford I phone should know that the middle income population of india is more than entire europe population which will grow even more steadily. So instead of patronizing see the big picture.

Please let me know if I'm not wrong. Doesn't it look like from THE OFFICE where they launch the pyramid tablet by Sabre? It looks exactly like that episode.😂 😂
