To me, the emphasis of the world continuing on in the background while the events of the movie take place is one of the things that makes it stand out and is one of the major points of the movie. The top-down scenes of Max's cab being just another vehicle in a sea of headlights, the numerous cars moving in the background while Vincent searches the offices for his last target, and most importantly, Vincent's dialogue about the dead body doing laps on the train for 7 hours before anyone notices. From the acting, the directing, the cinematography and the story, this movie is nothing short of a work of art.

Collateral is well crafted, edge of your seat, and fast paced thriller with superb cast. Michael mann's visual striking film perfectly shows the dark side of LA as well the life living in it. It is one of his best movies i've ever seen. Spectacular work of unhinged moviemaking

a). Michael Mann is an absolute master, when it comes to cinematography.
b). Tom Cruise should definitely play more villains, he was incredible as Vincent.

Tom cruise hitman in collateral is one of the best things in the movie history. Probably tom cruise underrated best movie that no one talks about. This must be added in your watchlist.

The actual star of this film is city of Los Angeles.
I've never seen the city of LA shot any more beautiful than this film.

This film is incredibly underrated. A lot of people will always jump to TC’s best movies being from the Mission Impossible lineup, but Collateral is something else.

Best film of Michael Mann. Nihilism always has two faces. An active one (the serial killer) and a passive one (the taxi driver). Love is the only way to get out of it. 11/10

Michael Mann is the master of making the greatest L.A. film noirs ever. I love his directing style and its characters are great. Well suited with nice hair. Tom Cruise can play a very good villain and he was amazing, relentless.

This movie is a tight slap to those who says we cant shoot beautiful films on digital. This was the earliest work to be done in digital and boy it still looks so good.
