Yorckscher Marsch performed by the Heeresmusikkorps 6 der Bundeswehr, Hamburg.

The march was composed in 1809 by the famous composer Beethoven as "Marsch für die böhmische Landwehr" (March for the Bohemian Militia). Originally the march was dedicated to the Austrian Archduke Joseph Anton Johann, but after 1813 it was named after the Prussian general Ludwig Yorck von Wartenburg, who had distiguished himself in battle during the campaign of 1813.

In the present day the the march is still played by parades and ceremonies of the Bundeswehr (army) of Germany. Most famously the march is played during the "Großer Zapfenstreich" ("Grand tattoo").
