Capacitor explained| Capacitor explosion experiment | Capacitor connection | ALPHA Lab
The capacitor is a passive electronic component that stores energy electrostatically in an electric field.
In the circuit, capacitors are often symbolled by a C character. The physical quantity that characterizes the properties of capacitors is called capacitance. The unit of capacitance is Farad.
Indeed, the capacitor is similar to a battery but it stores energy in different way. In addition, capacitors can't store much energy but they can charge and discharge faster than batteries.
The capacitors are also affected by frequency. The higher the frequencies, the higher the impedance. Another application is to block DC because the impedance of the capacitor is very high with DC. Think about the impedance of the capacitor if the frequency is zero.
Although the capacitors have many shapes and sizes in the real, they are separated into 2 groups: non-polar capacitors and polar capacitors.
The capacitor is also connected parallel or in series to form another capacitance value.
To use a capacitor, you need to take care of capacitance, working voltage, and polarity if it is a polar capacitor
Besides them, you need to take care of size, quality, and brand.
