I've just done this job and you don't have to remove the chrome strip.  However, take care when removing the two black plastic 'pins' that hold the B pillar interior trim on, at the botton.  If they drop down they are a pig to recover from behind the rear trim without mechanical fingers!  I would also suggest heating with a hair dryer the plastic cone shaped cover that is released to un pop the window opener arm at the back edge...they become very brittle with age...

nice video ! imma do this to replace those plastics on the bottom of that glass. my plastics are all dried up and cracked and broken.thanks for such a great video .

Really great....I learned a lot tks. BTW you don't have to remove the chrome strip or the 2 screws at the very rear of the window in the track. Once the push rod from motoer assembly back is loose, you can loosen the 2 bolts in b column and slide window straight towards the a column. Out it comes!!

I'm not sure you have to remove all that to get the window out. Just the B-pillar panel and window fasteners. Not surrounding trim (chrome list) etc. I'm gonna try on mine..

How is the Button (Cover Cap) attached to the window ? It looks like a large C-Clip ? Can you explain ? My cover caps are corroded and I want to take them off and paint. Do you need to remove the whole piece that passes through the glass, or does the Cover Cap simply pop off ?
