This video tutorial is about the use of E-Portfolios in education. Russell Stannard has been using E-Portfolios in his teaching and learning for many years and it has been very successful. In this quick video you will learn why they are so useful and how easily they can be used in education. Russell use E-Portfolios to assess his students and in this tutorial he will show you some examples of E-Portfolios of his students and how they can be used in courses. Finally, you will learn how quick and easy it is for the students to create E-Portfolio.
At the beginning we will look into some students work in order to see how E-Portfolio can looks like and what activates the student has been involved in. A big advantage of student's E-Portfolio is that as a tutor you are able to access your student's pages and see what they have been working at. Most importantly you can look into Reflections where each week the student is given different questions related to their work to reflect on in order to evaluate the quality of the E-Portfolio.
The great thing about using E-Portfolios is that you can link them to the activities that your students are doing for a homework or in the classroom. In the next part of the video Russell will show you how he integrates E-Portfolios into his course.
In the last part of the video Russell will guide you through the process of creating a E-Portfolio using very popular tools like Google Docs and Google Slides.
E-Portfolios are really a great way to assess your students especially if you are teaching on-line. Your students can be producing a digital content and that content can be put into their E-Portfolio which makes it very easy for the tutor to asses their student's work.

Thanks Russell for your amazing video. I am interested to integrate e portfolio in my language teaching. However, anytime my students update their portfolio I get email notification. It makes me worried since I get so many notification in my emails. What should I do to cope this problem? Thanks.
