Great video, thank you for taking the time to film and then edit! I'm with you on the click bait tag lines/thumbnail videos... I don't even watch them anymore as I'm not looking drama in camping/outdoor content. Since you like Laphroaig and peat... I'd go for Lagavulin (but it's too expensive in Canada, so I tend to pick up Laphroaig instead). Oban and Dalmore are also very good in my opinion 👍

Another successful wild camp, good healthy food your diet is compared to many poorly diets by others... Pot noodles excetera!

The forest thoughts are awesome and sometimes i see you Sam as my replacement, which i always wanted to do exactly the camping and talking about how our land.

Geography is indeed still beautiful but the echo system is almost extinct regarding native biodiversity.
Have you seen "oot an aboot" a scottish chap does awesome bushcraft camps, you two on a camp would be suited, him advancing your bushcraft, you advancing his knowledge on biodiversity, as he loves nature.

Sam looking forward to Dor mor ( big woods ) being established that could be for your new web site blog ?
Happy camping and keep yer boots dry.

Always enjoy Forest Thoughts portion. Didn’t realize that sika are that numerous. Darach is such a great pal and helper. 😊Liked the visit from tawny owl. Really nice dinner & whisky selection! Those wild haggis can sneak up on you sometimes on steep trails. They give themselves away on terrain that’s more level or uneven like where you stay. Seen in next Forest Thoughts : “How to catch a wild haggis”.

My particular favourite clip is Darach giving you side eye in the hammock. That's on account of him worried you were going to actually broadcast the b🤬cks he heard you talking about hagii!🤣🤪👍 Another great one. Forest thoughts maintaining the quality. Moran taing!

It's a shame the Haggis numbers are struggling, if they weren't so tasty they might stand a better chance of making a recovery 😁 Good stuff thanks for sharing 👍

Don’t care you are in the same place, my daughters got hear what a Tawny owl and were completely sucked in by the haggis explanation. It even got my wife too. She is English, so understandable…😂. Did Storm Eowyn do much damage in Scotland? We got hammered in Ireland. Interesting as to your thoughts of the pros and cons of storms like this in terms of natural regen. Next Forest Thoughts perhaps.

Hi Sam! Another great video. Hope you and Darach are doing well. Your videos are so relaxing before bed. Peace my friend. By the way, fried turnips and onions are incredible. A staple at my mom's table.

Of possible interest to you Sam - the latest video on the Living the Skye Life channel in which they talk about much the same here - whiskey, haggis, neeps & tatties and whether or not carrots belong in neeps. And part of the Sitka spruce forest in their area is being replanted with native hazel and oak. You almost had me with the Wild Haggis til I looked it up!

Great stuff pal! Good info for those that don't know about the deer and forests. Them Sika's are noisy buggers. I sometimes camp just along from where you are at the Fair Haired lads pass, there used to be a lot of sika there but not so much now that the crop has been cut.

you should explain that haggis is not exclusive to the highlands, i once caught one on the fly.
