Honkai is not gonna kill Genshin, what is going to kill genshin is the new spiral abyss, every patch it gets worse and less fun.

Just wait for Fontaine. Star Rail's popularity is heavily boosted by Genshin players waiting for content. But people aren't going to pull for every character in Star Rail the way they do in Genshin. It just doesn't have that level of character development.
Besides, you sure you even played Genshin? It's pity system is the same as Star Rails. Exactly the same (except weapons, which aren't relevant).
Also, you know Honkai Impact is still being updated after more than 7 years despite having way less popularity than Genshin, right?

I love both games tbh, the story in both is great, the character development in both, HSR has alot more QoL IMO, alot of the things we've begged for in Genshin, ended up being added in HSR, as someone with limited time to play, HSR is more convenient,
Genshin is more time consuming to do world exploration, questing, including long ass mandatory side quests for each new zone with no voice acting included :(
and the events are more time consuming at least the big events with lots of story included, and yes I love the story I'm just saying its time consuming vs HSR :/

i dont think its gonna kill genshin. tbh i dont think anyone can. but its true that genshin is boring now. and after they said that they don't want to add any more endgame stuff and just focus on other stuff.

Genshin fans will soon be back as soon as there's smth like Fountaine
Unless Star Rail has smth incredible in store soon, it's not ending just because it got less sales or stuff
Anyways just saying I'm a fan of HSR and HI3 more than Genshin
