In this video guitar lesson you will learn Metallica's biggest hit "Enter Sandman" note-for-note is an extremely easy to follow format. I will guide you through all of the rhythm guitar sections and lead fills PLUS take you note-for-note through the now legendary solo by Kirk Hammett.

It's hard to believe that this song is a couple of decades old now, it still sounds so fresh and exciting today. This is the song that catapulted Metallica to the status of the biggest heavy metal band ever and was the first single off of the classic Black Album.

The rhythm guitar parts to this song can be studied by just about any level of player and are a great workout in techniques such as palm muting, sliding, arpeggiated picking and string skipping. The solo is a textbook Kirk Hammett tour de force of fast pentatonics and two string arpeggios.

This is a big one! I never learned this because I was a good metalhead and thought it was too mainstream. Foolish. I can’t wait to learn the error of my ways and this song in 4k! 🤘

I'm just starting my guitar journey at 55 and this guy is really easy to learn from. His love of music really comes through and he isn't a show-off like some others who are moving too quickly. More Metallica pls Carl. Having an updated video of Masters of Puppets/One etc. in a single upgraded video would be brilliant. I am a paying customer as I felt guilty spending 2-3 hrs most nights learning from these free videos that I'd be lost without. I've got plenty of value from your tutorials but need to make more use of them. I'm nearly two years in learning the guitar. Now that I can finally start to do most things in these Metallica videos in my own slow and crappy way, it's hard to find time for learning about technique, music theory, improvisation etc. But I will make more use of those lessons eventually. It's just so exciting finally being able to play stuff I've listened to since I was a teenager after all the hard work with scales etc. Like many others on here, I can't possibly explain how your videos have helped. Amazing!

Great lesson, thank you Carl. When I get to the pre-chorus (at around 15:40) I bar the second fret all the way across and fret the D string (4th fret) with my ring finger all the way through this section, and play the A string 3rd fret with my second finger. All the notes on the second fret are already in place with the bar so I think it's a little easier as I barely have to move any fingers. Just a suggesion. Thank you.
