The war of 1812 was a military conflict between the United state of America and the Great Britain. The Us declared war on Britain after some restriction put on by the British and British’s support for native american which at the current time was quite hostile to american. Since most of the Great Britain’s resources were concentrated on the Napoleonic War the British fought the war defensively but after the defeat of Napoleon in April 1814 the British took a more aggressive stand in the war. However both side wanted to end the war and peace negotiation began in the August of 1814. An important event in the War was the British capturing and burning it down of Washington D.C. Even the White house was burned down during this period. Even though the peace treaty was complete on the 24 of December 1814 due to the distance and time of traveled it wasn’t until January 15 did the British receive the peace treaty. The War of 1812 was regarded by many people as the second independence war it also had a death toll of 6,764 people from both sides and lasted for 912 days from the start. Thank you for watching!
