Genesis 7

Genesis chapter 7 focuses on the great flood that God sends to cleanse the earth of its corruption. God commands Noah to enter the ark with his family and take with him pairs of every kind of animal, both clean and unclean, to preserve life during the flood. Noah obeys God's instructions.
The floodwaters begin after Noah and his family enter the ark, and the rain falls for forty days and forty nights, flooding the earth. The waters rise, covering even the highest mountains, and all living creatures outside the ark perish. The flood lasts for 150 days, and the waters eventually start to recede.
