Safely Opening Plastic Packaging

This is just a quick video showing some safer and more controlled methods to open all this super tough Packaging that everything is it in these days . .

It's a lot safer to use kitchen shears, especially the ones made for cutting poultry. Using a big knife on these stupid blister packs is just asking for a serious injury. By the way, I never let my wife see me using her shears for something like this, but I consider it payback for all the times she's used my good screwdrivers for a pry bar, lol.

I bought the cheapest pair of metal snips at the hardware store for $3 - $5, and they work great to use as scissors to cut through any plastic easily.

Today's packaging "engineers" must make lots of money. Hell, even chip bags are getting hard to open!

I use a Midwest Aviation Snip - Left Cut Offset (since I'm right-handed). They'll certainly cut through any of that packaging, and keeps your hands away from the plastic.

Home depot sells a nice pair of Milwalkee siccors. They are about $20. I do have that skil saw u have. I got it off eBay for $25ish. It was a open box

I use a Gerber Dime, they have a blade on them for opening them types of packaging.

Milwaukee packaging is the worst I have had to open. The plastic is extremely thick you need a chainsaw to open it! I need to find that Skil cutting tool. Any recommendations on where to find that tool?

I use metal shears I saw scoutcrafter use one and I bought a cheap one at harbor freight

came to search for how to open plastic packaging after cutting myself yesterday. was using scissors and the handle just broke in my hand. should have used my old technique for everything - heat an old kitchen knife on the stove for 5 sec and it cuts through plastic like butter. should have gone right way for it...

The absolute best way I've found to open blister packing is with tin snips.

Manual device: have u tried emt/ems/medical/trauma shears/scissors? Names ref same thing, has blunt tip for safety, no need to swipe the kitchen/poultry shears :p

I use a hot knife for cutting foam. Works good but smells. lol

Break out a pair of straight-cut snips, and maybe spare all this effort? Just a rhought
