Was just listening to this. It's crazy how beautiful her voice is, you can feel the emotions

No such thing as coincidences ... That voice, that song... It was the beautiful last breath sealing the end of the intoxicated reckless 90s... Like waking up from the night after, that somber feeling of not knowing "what just happened", "what have we done" but deep down you know "nothing will ever be the same again"
RIP 1990s

Man, I remember hearing about that after the fact and it just touched me ao deeply. Jeff was a real idol for me and I was a big Massive Attack fan. Its like a fingerprint of auch a tragic story on that song. Thanks for aharing.

I had no idea of this connection... head to toe goosebumps throughout and still. We love you, Jeff.

In 2000 I was 23, living in Denver Colorado, driving a limo for a hotel. Massive Attack stayed at the hotel and I drove them around Denver and took them to record stores all day long and later that night drove them to their show.

That’s so heavy. I’ve connected with this tune for years and it all makes sense now

Truly love this song and had no idea the origin story of her vocals that day. Thank you for sharing this. RIP Jeff Buckley ❤

I was at a party at smash box stage one and they played teardrop. I asked a friend that had really good taste in music and she said teardrop saw massive attack at hollywood bowl.

I had no idea of this connection. I have always loved this song. But it's one of those songs that I sing without knowing the words. If someone ever muted the song while I was singing, it would just be a bunch of mashed up words coming out of my mouth.

I just discovered Cocteau Twins and listened to Heaven Or Las Vegas for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Every night since then, I've fallen asleep to the album every night. When the time comes, please do a review of the album on your podcast. I'm curious to hear thoughts about it. I'm planning on doing a review of the album soon on my second channel.

I found out two days ago that a very important person in my life a decade ago passed away in 2022 - his family just didn't publicize it through an obituary or funeral, and we had a relationship that ended badly enough at the time to where we hadn't spoken in years. I'll probably never know what happened to him, but from what I can tell, I think it was by his own hand. Like Jeff Buckley, he joined the 27 club.

I've been in a combo of shock, regret, blame, anger, denial, and extreme grief, and I haven't felt comfortable talking about it to my friends and family because they've heard from my own mouth how much this person hurt me in the past - they probably think I should be celebrating. But they don't know how much I also loved him and cherished our memories together, despite the way things turned out. I wouldn't be able to get two words out if I was in a studio recording music, much less deliver a performance as haunting as this.

Share what people mean to you, even if it's still better to not have them be part of your life anymore. The people who are no longer living don't get to read their obituaries or hear their eulogies - if someone's smile lights up the room or if they're one of the kindest people you know, tell them now. I wish I could.
