Much appreciate the written instructions. Key part that I missed previously was creating a new user with certificate - I assumed connecting as admin would work. Happily have openVPN working now, though I also have two CA's now in case I missed something the first time around and haven't figured out yet where to remove the first CA.

Good tutorial I was able to "clean" up all my mistakes on setting up the VPN on my pfSense router. Coming from Untangled where it took care of most of the details you provided enough to allow me to replicate what I had on that router version. I prefer OpenVPN for Android as it always seems to work.
