I've seen 2 exhibits of Tut's treasures. Pictures do not do the pieces justice. They are exquisite and the detail of the craftsmanship is amazing. If you ever get a chance to see any exhibit of Egyptian artifacts, I highly recommend it!

Simon, just saying thanks for all the channels you’ve created. I can’t always keep up with your videos, but the ones I have watched so far are very edutaining at the end of day. Cheers.

Somewhere buried in storage I have a vintage National Geographic that features King Tut’s tomb and all the treasures. One could stare at the pictures for hours.

I have been to the Valley of the Kings and I have visited several tombs there. The tomb of Tutankhamen was small and modest but I will never forget it. I also visited the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and saw the treasures. Went to Giza and went inside the great pyramid. Yet, what impressed me most was the temple of Hatshepsut. Karnak temple was awesome too but I just fell in love with Hatshepsut all in all.
Oh, and yes, all this happened when I worked as a travel rep in Egypt so I went to these places every week. One week to Luxor, Cairo next, then Luxor again and so on. I could still guide tours there without checking my notes. Everything is in my backbone. Good times.

The Rosetta Stone and this discovery kick-started my love for history.

I remember going to see the Tutankhamun exhibition at the British Museum many years ago. Even after all these years, the memory of the gold Burial Mask sticks in my mind

Also, anyone find it funny that Simon jokes about locking Danny in the basement while filming in a basement office? I think Danny is keeping Simon in the basement and forcing him to film videos for scraps

Usually, there's two to four things in your different videos that just grab me. But, this video is utterly amazing. Every moment was like a sip of warm tea. Wonderful and filling. This, is now officially, my favorite video you've ever done. And you've done many, and many more videos.

Absolutely fascinating ! Mind boggling that all of the other tombs were probably just like this but pillaged over the ages.

Actually his tomb was raided twice in antiquity, however in both cases it was hardly touched. Other Pharoahs tombs were not robbed but were badly damaged by water, so Tut's tomb was best preserved.

So Carter didn't discover a damn thing. Credit to the kid with the stick.

Can you imagine, tracking a meteor fall, planning an expedition to the site, and just harvesting a space rock, to make a dagger.
Damn.

Poor kid that found the steps probably never got the credit he deserved.

I spent two hours with a friend during the Masks tour of the US just walking around the case looking at it. Only a few folks in the hall as we arrived before dawn. We then went to see Star Wars A New Hope on the third day of release. An almost empty theatre at the films start then a mob scene by mid movie. A very interesting day it was. The Gold seems to have been polished with bare hands only to get it so smooth.

A good follow-up video could be about new Museum at Giza, as mentioned in the video. Thank you for great content.
