Man I was literally able to just install Yosemite on my computer like I did with mavericks. Had a tiny bit of trouble but super happy that the process wasn't too complicated.

I'm about to try a similar setup and wanted to thank you for being so clear and concise, if only every tutorial was like this!

Hey, Bob. Your video's are so awesome! Thank you for making these tutorials, without your help, I would of never been able to do this. You're the guy who inspired me into the hackintosh world. I've built many PC's to run OS X on and now I know exactly what to do thanks to you :) Your channel deserves more subscribers and your videos deserve more likes and views. I've used a hackintosh since 10.6 to 10.9 and now 10.10. Big thanks! :D

Nice video, props from Italy!
I got a full working Hackintosh (z77-ds3h, i7 3770, gtx 770, 16GB 1866Mhz, etc.) with Mavericks and gonna upgrade to Yosemite this weekend.
I'm using Chimera and I'm so excited to learn about other methods and bootloaders (like clover or osmosis).

Hi Bob, thanks a lot for your great tutorials. Can we expect to see more videos about your new X99 CustoMac? Installation videos, overclocks, some benchmarks, maybe a comparison to a real Mac Pro and to your older 1366 and 1150 motherboards, about the X99 performance and so on. Thanks in advance and greetings from Serbia!

Ok, so you're pretty much the reason why I went on and build a Hackintosh. Or more specifically, this video did.

Since I am a COMPLETE newbie and didn't really know the first thing about building a computer, your video gave me the confidence I needed to pull the plug on my apple iMac and go hackintosh.

So I went ahead and bought the pieces and made my build. Once I had a BIOS menu I started with the Unibeast/Clover Installation and after 2 days I couldn't even get past the verbose mode in the installation phase... So was about to throw the towel and just install windows instead.

Then, I decided to try the FULL CLOVER approach, even though you'd say it's a lot more difficult, but I was out of options, so I thought why not?

So I went over to TonyMacx86 Yosemite Clover instalaltion guide, gave it a shot and BOOM! First try and I'm in and running, installation was a breeze and post installation was quite all right (lots of tinkering but simple nonetheless).

I have to say, the "hardcore" method is not all that hardcore at all.
I think that going unibeast first makes it a LOT harder to get the post-installation settings in Clover right, which makes the process tricky.
If you go full clover, it's pretty much set by default and the tonymacx86 guide covers all you need to know.

I have a 100% stable system, that boots in 7 seconds.
AppStore, iMessage, iCloud are all running perfectly.
I have a native WiFi + Bluetooth + Sound card --> no kexts at all

My setup:
Gigabyte z97x-ud7 th mobo
i7-4790k
EVGA GTX 970 SC SSX
32gb Crucial Ballistix Tactical
BCM94360CS2 card (modded)

I appreciate the concern for a simpler approach, but I think it's not simpler at all. Just saying.

I get to the second loading screen and the bar refuses to load anymore (9:34 in the video) Any suggestions? Thanks Bob xx

Chimera is the only bootloader I have used up until now but I will be waiting for a Clover tutorial. Btw, love your channel. Success!

Thanks, though the process might be a little bit different now, this should help immensely. I have a Gigabyte X99P-SLI motherboard (although mine doesn't say it on the box, it also supports Thunderbolt 3 through the USB Type C connector on the back which could prove very useful for OS X). My CPU is a 6950X with 32GB of ram, so that may also influence the installation process as I'm not sure if OS X supports that many cores and treads.
My main OS is Linux, but dual booting an OS X install as well will be great for other programs.

The other major thing I plan on setting up is KVM with VT-D for GPU pass through to any virtual machines I setup. Might even be able to setup OS X inside a VM, though dual booting may be easier to setup for now.

Started from scratch and updated the bios to the newest one (f11)
Boot: npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1
Yosemite is now booting.
Installed clover and nvidia driver.
After booting the network stopped working.
Installed network driver with multibeast.
No more problems with boot loop - that was a bios problem.

The only thing not working is the audio.
I did alot of googling regarding solving the problem, but didn't find a "Bob tutorial" - a "how to.." for non tech People.

At work I have a Bose speaker system that is connected with USB. That is my solution for now.

Another small problem is my windows 8.1 disk is not working with clover boot menu anymore. That is the next bump on the road.

Thanks for tips and tricks

Hey man... How do I find the exact kernel flag needed for my specific build? (I have the feeling Imay need one after countless attempts to boot from the flash drive using the Tonyx86 Unibeast method) or if thats too vague, How did you know you needed to use npci=0x2000?

Heres my hardware bro
Z97X-UD7TH
CPU - i7-4790K LGA 1150
Graphics - Geforce GT 740 2GB
PCIe SSD
TP Link n900 wireless dual band PCIe

Thanks for this tutorial! I was able to get my Yosemite 10.10.1 going on my x99 hardware w/GTX970 GPU. The only issue I have is that I have to use the USB to boot my SSD every time. I cannot boot directly from the SSD though UniBeast has been installed using the DSDT Free option. It hangs on the Apple logo, then eventually displays a slashed circle. Sometimes, instead of the slashed circle, the progress bar moves very, very slowly; but without disk activity from an activity LED standpoint.... it never boots. Any tips? I followed your steps to clone the initial GUID drive to an MBR drive. I still have to use the UniBeast USB to boot the SSD.

I got Yosemite up and running in 3 hours. Mavericks took way less time, but I felt pretty happy, as when I build my hackintosh, I installed 10.9.2. Never did a day one install. :P (Also, anything on iMessage with Chimera? I haven't found anything yet ;-;)

Bob, this video was super helpful.  I was really getting hung up on the X99 motherboard and Haswell-E chipsets.  I have a build going with a 5930K, Asus x99-A, and wanting to run Windows 8.1 and OSX 10 as dual boot on the same Samsung 850 Pro SSD that's 256 GB.  Windows 8.1 is installed, a partition is ready for OSX 10, and I noticed you said you had to have the drive formatted a certain way.  With our current set up would be able to install Yosemite on the new partition following these instructions you've outlined?  I can't thank you enough for any help you can give.

About the kernel overrides, are those possible to use for GIGABYTE GA-X99-GAMING G1? I watched your video couple days back and purchased the gaming board for the sound chips.
