You are living the DREAM! Coming home to all those packages full of books... Whoa... I'd probably faint of pure excitement! You *so* deserve it! Have a happy Monday and rest of the week!

I just have to say, i absolutely love the way you speak when reading a blurb of any book. Your diction and intonation is like 99% what convinces me to be more curious about the book you're discussing.

On the whole lost-in-translation 'parcel' vs 'package' thing: I used to work at Guitar Center in Nashville. One day an English man came in to check out the guitars. He asked for a lead. "Lead?" I repeated, not understanding. "Yes, lead. Lead. So I can plug in the guitar." "Oh! A cable!" I promptly handed him a guitar cable. He thought I was an idiot, and I thought 'how wonderful, I've learned a new word!'

These authors must be so ecstatic seeing Jack open their books! I hope that one day, my book can make a journey to him in a mysterious brown box! I would fall out of my seat.

That's a of book mail. Some of the books I hardly see being discussed on Booktube that I absolutely love and adore:

The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai.
River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer.
The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan- Philipp Sendker.
The Cat I Never Named by Amra Sabic-El Rayess.
Four Treasures of the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang.
How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue.
All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir.

excited for Anton’s debut novel. He’s such a gem. Also intrigued for the new Julia Armfield, I loved her stories in Salt Slow, yet have shamefully not read Our Wives Under The Sea, yet I know I’ll love it. You’ve reminded me to get to it!

Hahaha I am from India and used to my colonisers vocabulary too and use parcels.. but I'm currently working in the US as an urban designer and turns out that a single lot of land here is called a 'parcel' and that is probably what the guy thought lolol

Oh my God Jack those are so many books 😮, I did a book haul recently too, cumulating packages and opening them together is an energy booster 😅 I actually like the second version of Paradise Lost.
