This video took me months to make...was it worth the pain? Maybe.

As someone who’s been living with a spinal-cord injury for years now... take it from me, get out there — run, bike, walk — just see the world. Because I can’t. And I sure miss that space, that freedom, everything about the release. Not just running on the beach with my dog, but that — that most of all.

I'm just glad this schedule didn't involve an unreasonably low amount of sleep

Please don't run a 10k every day if you've never run a 10k prior to this video -- it's very dangerous to increase your mileage so quickly. Also I noticed you were doing static stretching to warm up, try out a dynamic stretching warm up routine after a 5-10 minute very slow run as your warm up. Static stretching should be for cool downs. Sorry if this is over prescriptive I just don't want you to get injured! Thanks for the video, very well made x

This is so true, waking up at 4am is a very ideal time, and the period between 4.30 to 7.30 am in the morning is so quiet and the focus at that point is tremendous. Proven! Even a non-morning person should give it a try, no harm. It just needs practice. For those of who you that think that studying at night is better, its the same reason studying at that particular period in the morning is efficient!

I’m new to haruki Murakami. my schedule is naturally similar except I don’t run and I write for maybe an hour and then spend the rest of that time questioning what the hell I wrote.

Thank you for this! I'm a graphic designer and spend basically 12 - 16 hours a day at my desk. At 27 years old and over 200lbs with asthma and rheumatoid arthritis, I feel like an unhealthy 60 year old and I said to myself, I'm too young to be feeling like this. I recently started Muay Thai training and running and it's not easy but I feel a difference in myself and my work. Hope to keep at it!

Just to clarify...I did not run 10 miles, but 10 kilometers. I frequently mentioned my distances in miles because it’s what I’m most used to :)

If I am not wrong marukami had a pretty good running past, he used run atleast one marathon a year so you get the gist but damn you trained to run 10 Km is pretty motivating to say the least. Good job!

What he's doing by running, is allowing his subconscious mind to kind of take over. You could do the same thing by just walking, coloring randomly, etc. Anything that let's the non-logical part of your brain to take over.

running or riding a bike without music is the absolute worst, totally feel ya 😭 can’t believe you made yourself get to run a 10k and then did it many times in a row, 10/10 for determination

I don’t care if you write for 5 hours, you ran 10 Km, you trained to do it. Wow, the discipline ! Respect. Keep running. All my love for me. Have a great life.

I don’t think he does this literally everyday. Just the days he writes.

Actually I'm tearful right now . I started studying for 10 hours everyday for 2 weeks( I used to read 4 hours before) and I'm on day 6 . I'm really tired and I'm not as motivated as i was before . I was procrastinating for 3 hours today and thought I could never make it so what's the point. But seeing how you got passed through this phase made me feel like I can do it too. Tnx.. oh actually I'm a murakami's fan and a writer too! ( english isn't my first language so sorry for grammatical mistakes) *subscribes*

This is really inspiring; I struggle writing and staying fit. My gym membership expired and am too poor to afford dancing or training sessions. I go walk but I spend most of my time sleeping. I began asking when will I return to my creative side but then I found this thanks to you and my passion for Murakami's works. Thank you so much and well done for the motivating challenge and pushing yourself in this enjoyable experience. Maybe I'll try it and see how I go
