Unboxing: BRAND NEW Barbie Extra Wave 2 (Millie, Carnaval, Skipper)

Today, I'm unboxing 3 new dolls from the second wave of Barbie Extra. I am an adult doll collector and this review is intended for adults in the doll collecting hobby.

Fun fact about no.8 shoes it's actually first use in barbie fashionistas glam and sporty 2 pack back in 2010 or something.

I love the second girl with the ponytails!! People forget these are play line toys and little Black girls may appreciate seeing everyday kiddy hairstyles instead of constantly seeing dolls with super glam braids and and fros all the time.

Sidenote: those rubber bands do get stiff and break overtime, but easily can be found at your local beauty supply!!

The fact that the stupid pets are cartoon but their heads aren’t Barbie size is so ridiculous! If they’re going to spend the budget on human accessories for the pets, they should all fit Barbie too!!! Plus then the stupid pets could wear all other Barbie sunglasses and necklaces and stuff. Missed opportunity Mattel. 😭

I agree, the Wave 1 girls were all far superior. I am a bit perplexed to see some DollTubers say this Wave is better, when it's got two caucasian girls with the same pink-purple color scheme as well as silhouette - fuzzy armed jackets paired with shorts/a skirt. Wave 1 had more variety, thought and care put into. Lots of different colors, textures, prints and silhouettes. I am definitely getting the curvy one, love her hair so much. It takes me back to my childhood and seeing the younger siblings on Family Matters and Cosby Show wear bubble braids in the very early 90s.

This Extra like would be better if
1# Use Saran Hair instead of Cheap Polypropylene hair
2# Put Make up and Glitters on Barbie's face just like what it used to around 2009 - 2012 Fashionistas

That jacket that skipper doll has another barbie fashionistas doll has that jacket . I saw it at walmart.

On extra 6 I use the dog hat to set bangs on dolls with bangs that I usually cut myself

I wished the hair had more texture on the 7 and 8 ones.Straighten hair is starting to get old.I wished the weak crimped one was a redhead I would snatch her up.good review, would be great, but the treatment of the plastic pets.

i can see some improve in the accessories, more than i expect don looks like a one color piece of plastic but this boring pieces of plastic still come
i think they are just sell a lot of no sense accesories that they fabric one time for a failed product, but Barbie Extra is the way, this girls have too much to give

I wish they had names.Why attempt to give these dolls so much character and personality, but then not give a specific name to each of them.

I love your honesty. Like even abut things you like that others don’t like. :) I loved wave one but there is very little in wave two that I like. It’s basically just the pink outfit.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the Barbie extra in the floral suit from the promo image, because I adore her pink braids!
Just...These outfit choices are something else. A lot of these pieces look great on their own, but they don't mix well at all.

I, too have mixed feelings about this line. The poor quality hair is a big turn off. By the way, I use glue dots for photos (it comes in a roll) as a way for my dolls to hold cups, clutch bags, cellphones, etc. It is non damaging and it is clear, but the hold lasts only for a few hours so it works best for photoshoots rather than displays.

If the leg warmers had been fabric would have been way better! The skipper was the only one I got, I changed her to a made to move body and swopped out a lot of her fashion bits, pet was cute too :)
