Hi guys ! This Is Our Home In Malaysia - we show you around our accommodation while staying in Penang, Malaysia for a month. We hope you enjoy this quick tour - This is a really common layout for the condo around here in Penang. The place we stay is called 'Menara Greenview ' in Jelutong area. We have found out this condo near Georgetown, Penang cost only about $290 USD everything included, coming with gym and swimming pool - the facilities of this accommodation is superb and we don't have to pay the deposit at all !

After we show you around the condo, we guide you to the Mandarin Kopitam ! A kopitiam or kopi tiam is a traditional coffee shop mostly found in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia and Southern Thailand patronised for meals and beverages. The word kopi is a Malay term for coffee and tiam is the Hokkien/Hakka term for shop (店). Menus typically feature simple offerings: a variety of foods based on egg, toast, and kaya, plus coffee, tea, and Milo. Not to be confused with the chain of commercial food courts called "Kopitiam"

- You do not have to be rich to travel non-stop -

American and Thai Millennials left the career in military and finance to become travel story tellers, proving the world that you don't have to be rich to travel well. Met in August, 2015 in South Korea, kicked off traveling in September, 2017 with $4000 in saving account and first started publishing our journey on the way we live the life we have always dreamt of - traveling and being able to work wherever we love ( as long as there is Wi-Fi and coffee)

☼ Currently homeless, live the life out of luggage, travel non-stop, and grow love along the way.
☼ We are deeply into traveling, doing what locals do, managing the budget to travel non-stop, challenging ourselves daily.
☼ Everything we show you here is to not only show you how our world is such an interesting place to explore, but also inspire you to live the life you love especially when you dream of traveling.

Thank you for joining us along this crazy journey

Malaysia is undoubly the best @logical place to base yr adventure, for anyone touriing South East Asia.
Modern, good flight connectivity, Good n affordable Health care facilities, Not too rowdy, ,,just a nice place to chill n rejuvenate before the next adventure.

1. Your condo felt like a home you settled in from the kitchen shot.
2. The Hokkien mee base was made of prawn broth. Hence, no fish were killed in the making. It is the other Penang famous noodle dishes. The Big 3 are Char Kueh Teow, Assam Laksa and Hokkien Mee.
3. Yes, you're right -- there is no overlapping stall in a kopitiam. Every few days to visit makes it fun.
4. Ok to be honest, they do have some pretty damm good nasi lemak there. So you can show us once awhile.
5. And as my Penang friend used to say it to my face, "the worst food in Penang still beats the best in KL."

It's spelled as 'Kopitiam' actually not 'Kopitam'. A combination of 2 words: 'Kopi' + 'Tiam'. 'Kopi' is a Malay word for Coffee while 'Tiam' is a Hokkien word for Shop. Literally a place you hangouts for drinks and dines (cafe). Regards. ❤

The Hokkien Mee’s broth got its tastiness from the shrimps which are boiled for hours with pork bones. As for the noodles, they were actually vermicelli (asian thin air rice noodle) and chinese yellow noodles (made of flour). It’s best to mix both types of noodles to tone down the saltiness of yellow noodles and also, not so slippery when you eat it with chopsticks 🥢 😊.

Penang is a perfect example of a real estate boom that became a bubble and then popped. Too many apartments for the people to rent them. Great value for expats wanting to live there, but bad news for the apartment owners that cannot find a fair return or buyer, or a tennant.

I live in that area ! You happens to be staying right at the center of the island. You guys were pretty lucky that you got introduced to the most local kopitiam where its not very touristy and has decent food, only locals eat there. But the kopitiam behind the one you're eating has way better food despite being older and its quite known to the locals.

Hi both of you! welcome back to Malaysia, I love your journey in Langkawi, now Penang, the food heaven! Nice condo! since you reside in Island's urban area, yes you'll see more chinese people & chinese restaurants/shop. You'll see lots of mamak (indian muslim) restaurant too! You will meet majority of malays in Penang's suburb area! Its the same in mainland, but in certain area, its kind of mix of chinese/malay/indian! Hope you can explore the Island, and experience many different foods & place penang have to offer! I miss Penang, its my childhood playground!
