At least 271,000 people homeless on any given night in 2022

At least 271,000 people were homeless in England on any given night last year, according to research from a charity “bracing” for a spike in homelessness in 2023.

This is equivalent to one in 208 people and almost half (45% or 123,000) of these were children, Shelter estimates.

If we rounded up all the people who are not from Britain who were homeless and just said 'look things are obviously not working out for you here - you need to go back home' Firmly, with no option but politely - there numbers would come down A LOT. Why are we looking after other peoples problems when they are not even from here ? How many British people are on their streets respectively?
