I love the fact that Amtrak is getting the same Siemens trains all around the country! And VIA Rail in Canada too! We are looking at a real revolution in intercity passenger rail in North America!

What I cant quite get is that, if they do hourly service each way, how are they doing this with one track? On routes that have one or two trains a day, I get. I take two different trains to Vermont a couple of times a year. Wouldnt it have made sense to build two tracks?

3h to do Miami-Orlando, honestly that's long, why they didn’t build an high speed lane and also why the lane is not electrified? In other parts of the world you can do 600 miles in that amount of time!
