They got closer in this season, since Kie and Pope are not a thing anymore, In S3 they defintely will consider them as a couple.

They fit each other so well. This S2 Kie's relationship with Pope was handled very well because it not only helped Kiara realized what she wanted for herself, but we were able to see how incompatible she was with Pope and how much she was trying to like him as a whole when the only part that really interested her and made her excited was his crazy side. And who resembles Pope's crazy side in a way that's natural for him? Exactly. JJ.
That Kiara's convo with JJ in the storage confirmed this (a perfect parallel to Kiara saying to Pope in S1 she wanted to travel and rejecting him because they didn't fit in that way). Their dreams match and they approach challenges in a very similar way. They also know how to respect each other's space and handle the other when the situation is getting out of control.
I love the fact that the creators aren't rushing things and instead creating a deeper connection between them before they fall in love.

They got a lot closer than they were in season 1 and I’m loving it. I really liked how they got some scenes of just the two of them. I hope we get more of them because they’re amazing. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that JJ is the only one Kiara hasn’t kissed. It’s because she likes him but doesn’t want to ruin their friendship if they become something more. But I think it’s obvious since the beginning that JJ always felt something more for Kiara because of how he looks at her and how sad he looks when he saw Kiara kiss Pope. The way JJ looked at Kiara when he woke up was so cute and how Kiara hugged him. My heart. 😍 I love them so much. They have so much chemistry compared with Pope and John B.

OMG YES! Its obvious they r so perfect for each other and the writers like taking their time building the relationship across the seasons makes it a whole lot more worth while. I love them <3
