I am trying to make this as a lanyard/kechain (which is shown in the thumbnail) but it's not obvious when to loop it through your knife/EDC item. It seems like you have to do it mid construction, after you do the overhand loop core. Kind of confusing.

this is a late comment but after making this you actually need 2ft not 3ft, you have a huge loop with 3ft
