FNF': Wednesday's Infidelity Part 2 - Dejection (Old Vs New) (w.i mickey old & new comparison 2)

Now it's time for a comparison between the old and the new (maybe it will be outdated soon) version of Dejection, the second song from Mickey's main week.

I’d say the old one plays more into it being a sad song, while the new one is meant to lead into Unknown Suffering, because of the faster pace halfway through and Mickey’s vocals being mixed with his one’s from Unknown Suffering. Either way, both versions are cool as hell.

I miss the old sprites, but I really like the new update on the song. His voice still sounds like the dejection voice but with unknown suffering voices.

I like both, I just wish they kept the old idle of Mickey shaking that starts like halfway into the song. It adds a whole lot of good elements that lead perfectly into unknown suffering. I like both versions, but the first one is slower and gives more of a chance to see Mickey slowing going insane, and it’s more eerie.

Man I will miss those extremely detailed and accurate old sprites. The new ones are good too but they feel less earie and don't give the same vibes like the old ones

To me it really doesn't matter because both are good in their own ways, but just rewatching the video over for the second time and pausing each moment to analyze both songs, I personally like the old one better just of the slow pacing and how depressing it sounded. But then again I also like the new one just from how fast and crazy it was going, kind of wished it transitioned from the old one to the new one after Mickey laughs and starts losing his sanity. That will actually make this give people a ride through this song.

Also for the sprites, sadly I liked the new one just because how Mickey's expression is saying "This is fine." And how well it will fit for both songs, might I say it looks better to me also. If anything on how to make it better is have him go from being sane to crazy repeatedly right after the song picks up just almost like the older sprite.

Again, this is my opinion and what I think on how it could be better in the future.

I like the old sprites because theres more going on and you can see mickey getting more insane throughout. That moment of silence where you can see him shaking is very unsettling. In the new one its just one set of sprites and nothing else.

I like new dejection. The sprites in new is certainly refined. I do see tho why many like old for certain aspects of the song, from the sprites to the song itself. Perhaps they could've kept the song slow like old and as it continues got faster like new. the new sprites, while amazing, should also have featured mickey going insane instead of letting the cutscene show it. I do think the extra long notes before the laugh should've been kept tho, it varied the beginning well

The old one is better. It just has some kind of charm with it. The screaming, the same speed kept through out the entire song, all of that is just gone with the new one.

Old version is better because it shows how Mickeys sanity is spiriling down while the newer version actually ruins this. This actually counts for every single new vs old version of Wednesday infidelity original songs

I like the old song better because of the juxtaposition between the slow pace and the abundance of notes, such as in 1:38. I think that makes it feel like time is slowing down, as it often does when doing something you don't truly want to (Mickey poisoning himself, in this case). It feels like he is hesitant to continue with his decision, waiting for something to convince him not to go through with it.

I'd say both have their positives. The new one feels like a panic attack, and the old one feels like you're heading in slow-motion towards your fate.
Although I think the old one looks difficult enough, and so why would they try to make it even harder??? 🤣
