Voice Over Practice Scripts

A question that I am often asked is regarding where to find voice over practice scripts. It's easy to find VO practice scripts and very important which ones you use. Check out the video to learn more.

Fifteen+ years ago, before YouTube, my VO coach had me find copy from magazine ads for practice. Works surprisingly well.

When I took an acting workshop when I lived in LA, we did just that. We primarily used scenes that were straight from a movie or TV show.

I think taking copy made for radio at times might be better. Some commercials are made with the video aspect in mind. Radio, just for listening.

Thanks for the great tip. I'm changing paths in my life now and this really helps. I want to be professional and sound professional when I record my portfolio work. I was looking at some other "places" and a lot of it sounded um cheesy at best. Never thought of your recommendation. Great stuff.

Hi Bill, please correct me if I'm wrong but are you saying that I can take a commercial and transcribe it into something new where it advertises the same idea but change it into my copy. I hope this makes sense because I am also a writer, LOL 😆
