As an owner of a rose gold 500e with the 42 kWh drivetrain, I agree with Quentin. Most enjoyable car I've driven in half a century of motoring that includes numerous warm hatches such as the Peugeot 205 GTi.

Great review as always from the only car journalist who has transcended the worlds of TV car shows and Youtube. The 500e is selling well here in France too, more cars of this size and perhaps the next notch up are needed, especially now the Fiesta is no longer in production.

the Fiat 500e £28k to £14k in 1 year after 1000 miles driven.... however the Arbath 595 1.4 T-JET £24k to £18k in 1 year and 5000 miles. At 40mpg the petrol for the 595 will cost £700. charging the electric will cost £220 at home or £500 at a motorway facility.
The 500e is great if you want to get rid of money

I expected the old Top Gear music that used to play between items to start up as it ended. It's a shame there isn't a TV show like it anymore
