Before I played Elden Ring, I only played GOW Ragnarok and seeing it lose GOTY made me annoyed, so I started playing Elden Ring. 100+ hours in right now and I can see why it won GOTY, but both games did different things better IMO.

GOW did Main story best IMO
Elden Ring did combat better
Elden Ring had a better open world
Elden Ring had more variation to builds
GOW had cool cutscenes

IMO, Elden Ring wins overall, but both will still go down as some of the best games of all time

Im so confused both gow had photo mode, and theres no real demand for the gow reboots to have multiplayer, from its main audience anyway. The souls games and most of their successors were made with pvp in mind.
