Youtube is becoming like the old TV without freedom.

So basically YouTube wants to be a TV station and not a location of content created by the people for the people.

Either allow it all or ban it all. There is no middle ground here.

So only powerful and wealthy political organizations are allowed to make video commentaries on Youtube. Gotcha 😉

I’m not a “birther, ” but I don’t like the idea of Google arbitrating “facts” and “truth.” I’m with them 100%, however, on banning deep fakes that aren’t clearly stated and for entertainment only.

Freedom of speech should not be applicable without identity verification. If you are afraid to put your name in front of your words then you should keep them to yourself. This is why I think laws against anonymous social media posting and requiring a person be verified before being given the mic are necessary. Combine this with making it a crime to knowingly spread false information on social media and you go along way to protecting the platform for discussion and protecting the speakers from anonymous social groups waging war on anyone who disagrees.

And when did this happen in the last election?? If I did I'm not sure it made much of a difference if it did.

These comments are idiotic. Clamping down on misinformation is not left leaning. That's a ridiculously ignorant statement. Misinformation comes from both sides. There are right leaning individuals who don't thrive off of sharing misinformation - they just have a different opinion & that's fine. But when people use misinformation to get people to think, feel & react in ways they wouldn't have had they not been misinformed, that's the issue. No matter what side you're on. Saying that clamping down on misinformation is left leaning is you actually saying that the right misinforms people more often. Which shouldn't be ok to you.
