Looking to fit 35's before you jump in for a full-suspension build? Join us as OJ Lopez gives us a brief rundown of the process Fluid MotorUnion used to fit massive 35-inch tires on a 5th generation Toyota 4Runner, in preparation for a future suspension build.

The video and blog go over our recipe:
1.5" Body lift
3" Front lift
2" Rear lift
Differential drop bracket
4 Wheel Alignment
A whole lot of trimming and bodywork!

Pretty sure this is a mall crawler and will not touch dirt. Why buy 2WD when you plan to put 35s. 2WD are not recommended for lifting with super heavy tires as it puts too much stress on the axles, suspension, etc. Most lift kits don't make anything for 2WD and are not recommended. This is a case of bad planning and waste of MOD money LOL. If you're spending that much money for tires and customization just get a 4WD end of story.

This is exactly what I did but I use 35s as ATs and I still don't have a body chop I refuse to do that. I'm mo engineer but I'm sure that if you body chop the frame is going to flex sooner than one would imagine

So the plan is to build this into a long-travel 2-wheel drive 4Runner? Before investing money into a dead-end, why not trade for 4x4 SR5 and take it from there? Is there some sentimental value to a plain white 4Runner?

2WD??? A 4runner? I've never seen a 4runner 2WD I didn't know they existed actually. Not here anyways.

4runner on 35s.... im guessing thats about 50mph up any kind of real grade. Mine was on 33s and it was an absolute dog up any hill.

the tech guy: "project allowed the customer to get the look first and then be able to put hardcore off road stuff on later"

goes ahead and slaps 3" spacer on a 2wd lol

Man I clicked hoping it was gonna be something like we threw the strut in these coils etc... im good on spacers. Whats the cheapest way you think that can still be wheeled regularly

If this customer not a hard core off -roaderr why he need this all, stock suspension will take care of this only need AT tires, did not get it :/

The fifth GEN completely sucks on 33’s without changing your gears. I can’t even imagine how terrible 35s would be. It would be completely undrivable.

this Owner budgeted for a 2wd 4Runner... and then he goes and lift it on spacers and throw 35” tires on it 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ definitely a Mall crawler. The BMC with spacer is overkill, and they even had to chop his fenders??!??!!? Oh hell no! 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ the technician says hopefully he doesn’t do any heavy off-roading bahahaha I hope he doesn’t do any Heavy Mall-crawling with this Rig 😂

You didn't have to cut or weld nothing you could have just put a four and a half inch lift to 5-in lift with a 2 inch body lift.

Bruh that UCA bushing ain't gonna last with that 3 inch
