1. 0:38 Select the Model In-Place tool, choose Family Type for your trim, and give it a name according to your preferences.

2. 1:00 Select Sweep Tool.

3. 1:09 Use the Pick Path tool to create a path for your new trim.

4. 1:55 By default, many Profiles Families are already available in Revit. I'll use the By Sketch method to create custom shape trim.

5. 6:12 Use the same method for other door or window trim.

Hi! Thanks for the video, it was very complete. I used this method to create shade overhangs and shade fins, but I don't know what should I assign as Family category in the first place?! you used casework, but I used generic model, however, it does not have any material assigned to it. What should I do?
P.S. I want to export this model for energy analysis, so I want to assign a material or property that let the energy analysis software know that this is a shading surface not a wall. Any solutions?
