Shochu, yuzu, agave, shiso, plum salt

The flirtibird is perhaps one of my favorite cocktails of all time. Its been a mainstay at Angel’s Share, and rightfully so.

Essentially a tommy’s margarita with shochu, the additions of shiso bring a certain herbalness to the cocktail, which surprise surprise, goes well with yuzu. Plum salt/ li hing mui provides salinity, while at the same time adding a bit of licorice notes that round out the herbal component of the cocktail.

60 ml | 2 oz shochu

30 ml | 1 oz yuzu super juice

10 ml | .3 oz agave syrup

1 shiso leaf

Garnish, plum salt + shiso leaf.

Tear up shiso, and it it to a shaker tin along with the other ingredients. Add ice, and shake until cold. Rim a glass with plum salt, then pour cocktail into the glass with ice. Garnish with an additional shiso leaf.
