Being from England myself, I have been to Malaysia 6 times and Thailand 4 times, and KL is my favourite city that I have been to with Bangkok being a close second, and I have travelled to many cities around the world. Bangkok is chaos and fun where KL is serene, modern and beautiful. English is widely spoken in Malaysia compared to Thailand as it is a Commonwealth country but it is an amazing country with so many things to do. You think Thailand was amazing, just wait until you have properly explored Malaysia like I did. And I am planning to be in Malaysia again for the 7th time including coming to KL after a 2 week trip for my 4th visit to Indonesia.
By the way, since you are close to Masjid Jamek, you need to see that at night when the River of Life glows - it is amazing. But Kl has much more than that, especially with the parks and forest in the centre - Eco Forest next to Menara Tower and Perdana Botanical Gardens

we can speak english not because we were formerly colonised by the british. it's simply because english is taught in school for the simple reason it's the no 1 international language. the language of business and knowledge.

Wayne, we have so much in common. Like you I have traveled all over south east Asia and have only recently returned from 60 days roaming all over Malaysia. My interest for Malaysia was sparked when I worked for three seasons in F1 2000, 2001 and 2002. Sepang was my favourite circuit. It was at the height of Michael Schumachers F1 career. Enjoy Malaysia.

We are a former British colony and English is our 2nd language. But bear in mind that there are many migrant workers from Bangladash, Pakistan, India, Indonesia who don't speak English.

Malaysia is my second favourite country in SE Asia after Thailand. People are friendly, food is good & varied, infrastructure is brilliant, 90-day visa & decent value for people from Europe, Australia & N. America. I was living a few months at a time in Penang before COVID. I think Thailand lovers are sceptical because it does not have the crazy nightlife, but that is not everything especially as you get older.

KL is the best among South East Asia country and quite balance in many aspects compared to cities in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. One thing making the trip enjoyable and serene is no one is pestering you to buy junks you don't even need in Malaysia. It's not perfect but I'm very satisfied on what Malaysia has to offer.

I love Malaysia so much, I just bought a seaside condo with a view to die for. In the US, that view would cost oh $5-10 million dollars.

Hey Wayne! My very first visual exposure to Malaysia and its people; quite impressed with its modern image, the cleanliness, minimal traffic and most friendly citizens speaking proper English. Malaysia is already on my bucket list of countries to visit and experience. Nice that you split the video into day and nighttime views. Good video and description of this beautiful country!

KL is quite a change from Thailand. I had a great apartment on the 40th floor right across from the Petronas Towers, it's so beautiful at night there.

The Petronas Towers are absolutely amazing, man, usually video never does what you're seeing justice, but when you see them all lit up at night, that really takes it to another level. I was genuinely looking up at those in a sense of awe. I've really got to see this in person sometime mate. The people are friendly and speak English! What kind of paradise have you stumbled into?

Most people s in Malaysia active when sun goes down around 5-12am ehich is not too hot. If you like nature you can go to Perdana Lake Garden and Titiwangsa Lake Garden but don’t go on midday, just too hot. If you looking for local food, please visit Kampung Baru, oldest and the only one Malay village in KL city. Also here in Malaysia many immigrants came from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar etc and most of them can’t speak English. Anyway enjoy your stay in KL/Malaysia
