They have 2 whole albums of and "The Lucky Ones". They also have other "Evolution of...." videos...they are Music, MJ, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande. They also do medleys, such as "Daft Punk Medley", and "90's Dance Medley". Let me introduce them to you....the back three are L to R...Mitch (counter tenor), Scott (baritone), Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty....who is a mezzo soprano). On the bottom L to R is Avi (bass) and Kevin (beat boxer and tenor when he sings). Check out their channel with over 200 songs. This is live. They do 3-4 takes of this kind of video and pick the best one to post. They have toured all over the world.

It’s one take. When they do these one take videos, like the rest of their Evolution videos, they record it three or four times and use the best one.
They have over 200 songs over their eleven year history, both covers and originals. Recommend their Daft Punk (medley). Subscribed.

Loved your reaction. Please keep the PTX reactions coming. For a great example of their live performances, check out their Popspring 2016 concert. It has three original pieces and their Evolution of Michael Jackson. Many reactors do it in one reaction. It is about 15 minutes long. We Pentaholics love it. 💕💕

love that your doin PTX again. Hopefully you'll actually get their names down soon lol. 1st yes its all one take. The evolution videos are gifts to the fans, unedited performances as if you where there live. 2nd the beat boxer you are so impressed with is probably one of the most musically versatile and gifted individuals around. His name is Kevin Olusola (KO) and not only is he a self taught on BB but is also classically trained on Cello, Sax and Piano.
Check out some of his solo stuff he recorded in his home studio like, Down (Marian Hill KOver) - Kevin Olusola
Or you can review one of my fav's "Sign of the Times" (Harry Styles KOver). What this man can do by himself in his home studio in one take, with a loop a couple of mic's, a mixer and a few instruments is mind blowing.
I really hope you review one of these cause I'm looking forward to hearing you geek out technically on what he's using and how. Cheer's mate!

I'm always amazed listening to them. They won the 2nd season of a competition call Sing off on NBC. The fact that therw are numerous groups that can do this blows my mind. It's AMAZING! Their Christmas music btw is soo good.

Thank you for reacting to this awesome early Pentatonix video. They are amazing. All of their Evolution Of... videos are great. My favorite is "Evolution Of Rihanna". They sang their Evolution Of... videos live on various tours. They have 2 albums of originals plus some originals on EPs and albums with covers. Check out the Popspring 2016 concert video. It has 3 original songs and "Evolution Of Michael Jackson" medley. Those performances were done as part of a live music festival in Japan. MTV Japan recorded those 4 performances to show on Japanese TV so the sound and visuals are crystal clear. It's about 15 minutes long.

Enjoyed your reaction! I hope you continue to react to more Pentatonix. They have a lot of wonderful songs. You may also enjoy their 90’s Dance Medley, Evolution of Michael Jackson and Ariana Grande. Their renditions of Bohemian Rhapsody and The Prayer are phenomenal. Greetings from Tennessee 🤗🇺🇸

You should definitely check out Avi's solo work. Since leaving PTX in September 2017, he's produced quite a lot of music, about 90% original. His styles are wide-ranging, and he's been able to utilize his training, both as a basso profundo (he was an opera/classical major in college and had been offered a position with the Los Angeles Opera when he was lured away to join PTX in 2011) and as a composition/arranging minor. He recently completed a European tour (his second), and is currently on a US tour. His first full-length 11-song originals album was released recently to rave reviews, and, while it's tough to recommend just one song for you to react to, try this one - "I'm Only Getting Started". It will surprise you. (Note - Avi does not do strictly a cappella any more. He uses various instruments, most of which he plays himself, and he sings all the vocal harmonies as well.)

Forgotten gem with Kirstie going the lead vocal and the boys just supporting her. Sweet Nothing a cover of a Calvin Harris/ Florence Welsh track. One of my absolute favorites

That is such a great reaction! I love your knowledgeable comments! This was super early, too, and they have grown and matured as artists. You can hear it, even while marveling at the near perfection they always were. You've got a LOT to catch up on. Jump way forward and watch The Prayer, I'd love to hear your comments about that one. Just be aware of two things as you listen, Mitch and Kirstie (Left and Right) morph in appearance constantly, but it's always them, and Avi (bottom left) left the group amicably in 2017 and was replaced by Matt. He's great, and has a different quality to his voice that has changed their overall sound, but not enough so you can't tell it's PTX. I think that is largely due to the trio staying intact (top row Mitch, Scott, Kirstie). By the way, Scott has legendary riffs and runs as you pointed out here, and an insane range, covering bass when the bassist solos and adding some beautiful, controlled, falsetto. Kevin is still the beatboxer and occasionally brings his cello into the game, as well as a beautiful tenor voice when he sings. They are, all six of them, solo-artist-worthy, and thet all have solo and duo work on the side well worth checking out. Oh, I can't wait for you to dig up all the diamonds in this rabbit hole!

If you would like to see live performances Hallelujah from their self titled 2016 or 2017 Christmas special, their 2016 Popspring performance is 4 songs 3 originals and The Evolution of Michael Jackson. Aha live from Singapore at The Star Vista.

OMG Jesse & PTX - 2 of my favorite worlds colliding. I am SO excited for this!

Edited to add: there’s actually a BTS of this video if you’re interested in seeing how they go about this ridiculousness 🤣 (keep in mind this is pretty early PTX so quality of everything has had a major upgrade since this was made haha)

You probably know this by now, but Mitch is an authentic countertenor and Avi is a basso profundo with an F# 1! Avi is also able to do overtone singing! The nexus of the lives of these five people coming together is still unbelievable to me!
