There is actually a small reference to a comic book team up between two of the characters in the movie. Half way through the movie when Peter arrives in Berlin in his Night Monkey outfit, he gets into the car of who he believes to be Nick Fury. The license plate of the car is MTU83779. This is referencing the comic book Marvel Team Up issue 83 which was released in July 1979. The issue is called “Spider-Man and Nick Fury”.

Anyone else noticed that that isn't a German license plate.
You whould have a 1-3 letter space for the city code on the number plate, followed by a small circle with the federal states code of arms, followed by a 1-2 letter space where you can choose the letters, another space and 1-4 numbers that you can also choose.
