I expected this film to break me as I was watching it yesterday. It didn’t, but I experienced something I never experienced before. While watching this film, I was constantly thinking about my parents and even reflecting on my on life and family. So much, that I have to visit my parents today, which are in their 70s and still healthy, and I immediately had to tell my wife how much I love her. Powerful, powerful film, and today I realized why it wasn’t a hard watch for me and didn’t break me at the end. I was doing community service and took care of older people with the same fate when I was around 20 years old. Watching this film was not a heartbreaker, but thinking about these old people from my past, and about my own family did somehow hit me emotionally while watching it. Thanks for recommending and this fantastic yt channel my friend.

Haneke makes movies I struggle to rewatch but I'm also constantly thinking about them, one of my favourite directors

This is my favourite Haneke film. Just incredible, it's definitely a difficult watch though. Agree with the score!

Especially, the suffocating scene is t truly heartbreaking. It cames up with horrifying contrast because except this scene, the film is full of the stationary and serene.

Amour is brutally honest filmmaking at it's finest. Haneke is my third favorite filmmaker of all time behind Kubrick and Von Trier.

I love this movie, my favourite from Haneke. I´ve been able to see it more than once, but it´s heartbreaking as fuck. I do still have to see some other films from him (more on his early stage) but pretty much everything from him ranks from very good to flawless.

Def a good movie but far from his best. This one is his most shallow and cheap film. Here are some way better in my opinion.
1. The Piano Teacher
2. Cache
3. Funny Games (2007)
4. Happy End
5. Benny's Video
6. The White Ribbon ( Yes this one aint that good either)
7. Amour (still better than every marvel movie) But yeah 6/10 at best.

How is it tragic? When those characteristics of old age are suppose to happen

it is a really brilliant film of two people who are old and still trying to hang on to life, it is very sad so get out the kleenex
