I've found that it takes a while to get used to handling them. I have a smaller one that took me a long time to learn to use properly and I also regularly use an army issue Kukri (given to my wife when she was a young volunteer in the hills of Nepal), it is a superb tool, once you twig on what to do with the thing. It takes a lot of punishment (please don't tell my wife) and earns its keep alright. I hope that you persevered with it and enjoy it for what it is.

To each there own, I my self am not a fan of Pakistan knives. My two knives I use the most are a Mora pro c and a Kershaw hot point . They handle all my needs, but I am going to give the marbles military utility once try ! I am a fan of your videos keep up the good work !

Love your channel! I just bought myself a Kukri. What’s that they say about great minds?

Problem with mine is that I went plumb crazy. I sprung for the Tops Bushcrafters Kukuri 7. Blew the budget…several times over…but it’s going to be a good one I think. Not had the time to play with it yet.

Generally an actual 9-11" bladed Mark 5 style khukuri should weigh under 600 grams. My 9.5" Kailash weighs just over 400 grams and is a nice size, small enough to be practical and large enough to chop and baton. My oldest khukuri style blade is the Kabar Kukri Machete from back before they were made of SK5, mine is 1085 but hasn't really given me any issues in the many years I have owned it.

Hi, great video, I think the awkward shaped area is for choking up on the handle to do fine detail work. Also a bicycle inner tube cut and pulled over the handle might dampen the felt shock. Hope this helps. Thanks again and take care.

Puny looking little Kukri like object. I have something called the Khukuri Cowboy, which has a 15 inch long blade. That I got from Khukuri House Thamel, from Nepal. I now have a second Khukuri, from Khukuri House Thamel, that has a 12 inch blade. Both are great knives.

I say the belly is for cutting say 3 inch limbs or branches then the protruding section for limbing the larger material then the point for kindling or fine cutting giving you an axe a machete and a fixed blade knife. Use the indent to choke up in the blade for shaving and so on but different strokes for different folks

Never saw that model I bet it would chop amazing if you did a little edge work. Just looking at the video the grind can be improved. It’s a beautiful piece especially for the price.

Man that is a big knife, definitely a hatchet replacement lol!! And you can't beat that price with a sheath. Great review George!!

Thanks for your review! I just ordered one from Smokey Mountain Knife Works and it should be here next week! For $24.00, it’s worth it just for the sheath! I let you know how it goes once I turn it loose in the forest of Washington State. It looks like it will be a great chopper! 👍🏻

Good look to that blade! I if you would like a suggestion, check out Blackie Thomas. He has some good history and usage vids. I bought mine from Nepal before Bush crafters were big on them, made a difference in the price, for sure! Have a good one and thanks for the great vid, truly enjoyed it!

I just got one of these from smokey mountain knife works for 25 bucks plus tax and shipping. Chopped on some real hard wood no issues yet. I like the choil right at the balance point to choke up on for finer stuff. Feels only about 1.5lbs to me not too heavy. Edge could use reprofiled but definitely seems very nice for the price hopefully it holds up over time.

I have a number of traditional kukris that I love. This looks like it would be a fairly nice beater but it looks like it needs a better edge. I had thought about getting one when I 1st saw them, And I probably still will. Thanks for the review

That looks like a lot of fun George! 😁 I've not seen those Marbles Khuks at all 😎My uncle was a sailor, and gave me my first knife when I was about 5 - a Khukri! 😱My mother has a photo of me waving it at the camera! 😁👍
