When Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Man United, it looked like the Portuguese ‘Last Dance’ with the Red Devils. But in just 18 months, he fought with his coach, left the club, had a disappointing World Cup, and will now play in the Saudi League. What The Hell Happened to CR7?

He's 37 but he just wanted to play in the best leagues, it's sad how his career has been in these final few years but never the less he will be one of the greatest player of all time

People have short memories. Ronaldo scored 24 goals for Man Utd last season including 6 UCL goals enabling them to even qualify. If that was any other player they'd call it a peak season. It's more than England's captain. So, what do they do? Bench him! The hate and disrespect for this man is INSANE.

I'm a Messi fan but I can honestly say I feel for this guy. Stay strong champ 💪

Cant believe how much criticism CR7 is receiving. It's like one bad year has wiped out all his previous achievements.

Gotta remember the dude is 37, most players are retired or washed up by 37. Ronaldo isn't at his peak but better then most at this age

In 2015, he still in his primed
2022, circumtances change
No european team offer him
And Europe league become toxic already for him
To get a fresh air, you have to go somewhere where you can start and people love you
And he found that in Saudi Arabia

People always criticize Ronaldo even when he lost his child.2022 wasn't Ronaldo's year.

It's crazy he scored 47 goals in 2021 & only 16 goals in 2022. That's an insane drop off

Just look at the welcome he received when he did his first appearance in the Saudi Team, majestic!

I like your uplifting view on this. And I like the idea of Ronaldo rolling over asian football. I doubt this will be the last we hear of him.

Ronaldo had a tough year and obviously he is ageing and he knows that. Sitting on bench for utd was the beginning but when Portugal benched him, he knew it's time to slow down the pace. Messi winning the world cup was the final nail in the coffin. He accepted that he is not 23 anymore and is content. Also he will get more money in the next 3 years than all of us in this comment section, combined!!

I mean he said it in his interview, he missed preseason because of family issues and I guess he also reduced work out through this difficult time. At his age its very difficult to get back into shape once stopped, I assume he was also surprised.

Why are people hating so much? If you are truly a fan of CR7 wouldn't you want to see him happy? If he feels he is happy in Asia let him be. Personally, I have lived in Saudi Arabia and love the football teams and the country. Hope he brings joy to a new section of fans. Leave politics to the politcians, leave the negativity and enjoy him for what he is. CR7 you have given us so much joy and I'm sure you'll continue to do so on the pitch. Much love from a 'true' fan.

You've given more focus to the loss of his son than most, which I think is a crucial element to all this. Unimaginable. I don't expect him as a public figure to share that pain with the world, but I think treating his career like business as usual after that is maybe what's given him a bad look. Maybe he wouldn't have reacted so strongly to any career setbacks if he took more time for himself to process, and wouldn't have torched Man U and Ten Hag. This is obviously all speculation. I just hope the guy and his family get the support they need.

Bro its not a surprised that ronaldo is not as good rn. Idk why so many people make fun of him for being finished at 38 when most players are finished at 33?

that’s the problem with social media. You play well you get plaudits and when you don’t you get criticised.

This is how I know everyone in the comment sections has zero clue to his decline in performance in 2022. How do you go from 24 goals in a season to 3 in the next season. It’s just not possible if your cristiano Ronaldo who works day and day out to stay at the top. 3:32 he mentions he lost his baby son, “his baby son at birth” why can people get this through there thick heads. These events effected him mentally and it didn’t help him that Man United wasn’t supporting him off the pitch. He’ll come back stronger.

Also in todays interview with Al Nassr he mentions that playing at this team isn’t the end of his career. I guess bro still has even more plans to prove people wrong and rise up again to the top in European football.
