Tendon Tenya is one of our favorite places to eat in Japan. They serve up freshly fried tendon meals, quickly, and it's relatively inexpensive. It's easy to find a location near the larger train stations in Tokyo.

Tendon Tenya is a popular Japanese fast-food chain specializing in tempura bowls known as "tendon." Founded in 1989, it has since expanded and now has numerous locations throughout Japan and even internationally.

The word "tendon" is a combination of "tempura" and "donburi," which refers to a bowl of rice.
