Andy if you teach anybody anything as a priority (I hope that came out right) it is persistence.
Do not give up. There may come a time on the river when a person feels they are flogging water and not doing anything right, but don't give up. I have found my way through these times by pulling up a stump and calming my mind, then remember my basics. What am I fishing for, Is nymphing warranted or dries? Look at my rig, is it right? What must my presentation be? Deep pool, shallow run or riffle? Do my flies allow me the presentation. I often give my line a quick wipe with a clean dry soft cloth. Then envision the cast you must make. Don't just look and say I have to set the fly there, close your eyes and see the cast, stand up take a breath and go to the water. The other thing that is really important is to stay hydrated and don't forget a snack.
All of this takes ten minutes. When you go back and take a fish your confidence will soar and you will be fine. You probably don't need to hear this but there are a lot of new folk that get discouraged quickly, i hate to see that happen.

Enjoyed this v much. Watched your back series and liked them all but as a beginner would love some fly 101 for the UK fisher. The Madriver outfitters site is great but not always applicable to UK I think although I’m clearly no expert. Other UK videos less watchable than yours IMHO. Keep up the good work and many thanks.

Sorry new to this although I have watched you and IB fishing for some time. I was wondering if you have a section on suspension rigs? I didn't know if you could use a coarse fishing rubber sliding stop bead to adjust the depth more easily than tying on more or less tippet?

Great video Andy, but even more frustrated now as I fish that section regularly out of lockdown! The first part you fished usually has a very decent trout about 3 feet from the edge, right near the stone stool which I've managed to catch a couple of times (the last time was on a Baby Pink!). I have come back a few times after fishing there and thought I'd missed a trick as it looks very fishy but often doesn't really deliver (or maybe it's me!).

Great video. What cameras do you use to get such a clear picture? Are they water proof?

Why do we think of the squirmy worm as the last resort?

Another great video thanks Andy a lot of valuable info . Just a quick probably silly question, looking at your squirmy worm it seems like the squirmy comes out through the bead rather than round it which looks good . If this is the case how do you get it through without stretching till it breaks ? Thanks

Are these day ticket/member/free stretches Andy? I'm looking for trout spots ready for the season as don't know of any near me in Hinckley.
