Note: The year has been said to be 1946 for this record by contemporary sources, granted there is also a release of The Honeydripper, coupled with Poor Butterfly that appeared on HMV in 1954, but as for this one here with this B side, it appears was 1946 for the release.

Oscar Peterson is a name you've probably heard if you ever did any surface level jazz research. Peterson was an Canadian jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader, from the post-big band & post swing years of jazz; the late 1940s to the mid 1960s. Being sideman for, and alumni of many bands, to mention a few includes Billie Holliday & Her Band, Lionel Hampton & His Quartet, Ben Webster & His Orchestra, Charlie Parker's Orchestra, and played with numerous others in smaller, temporary groups.

But he also lead, and truly shined in bands and groups of his own. Of which, his trios likely the most famous. Listing members of this trio is pointless here, because there weren't any permanent members apart from Peterson himself, and it was most likely not a solid trio, many times it was just credited as "accompanied by bass and drums". This trio recorded quite frequently under RCA Victor & releasing under subsidiaries such as HMV, as far back as 1945 and up through 1950, before he left for other labels. It should be assumed that these other trios were different.

Although this trio definitely produced some desirable and interesting records, when it comes to charting success, there seems to be nothing that didn't make a fuss farther than probably the jazz circles.
