Nice review. Thanks. My wife and were considering a GX or Land Cruiser to replace our 16 year old SUV. We settled on the GX 550 - Overtrail in particular - because maximizing cargo capacity is the key for us. We like the Overtrail lack of third row - never needed it - and the LC battery takes away from cargo space. We don't drive enough overall to make fuel mileage a concern. Besides, we have smaller vehicles that getter mileage when we choose to use them. But we won't be buying anything for at least a year or so. We never buy any vehicle from anyone in the first year.

I cancelled by Ineos Grenadier order because the GX was released. The GX Overtrail is a better value overall. The most meaningful difference between the two is the IG can be optioned with front lockers, and has about 2 more inches of clearance.

This is definitely the one I would get but it’s needs to have memory seats standard. And I would love to see the Mark Levinson as a stand alone option.

The biggest thing that put me off was the fuel capacity here in Australia on them. I ended up buying a diesel LC300 over this even though I really wanted a petrol motor, and the petrol motor has some question marks as well. Maybe in a few years I'll swap out for one.

Great video. Gotta say, for $70k I’d buy a used low mileage LX570 or a Land Cruiser 200. The GX is way overpriced.

the new gx is so beautiful but I went and test drove one at Beverly Hills Lexus and I could feel slight verberation in the steering wheel the entire drive and that was on two different models. Maybe that's just part of the truck-like experience but as someone who was looking for a new car it was a deal breaker for me.

Got back from a Lexus Dealership yesterday and they said the Overtrail versions are in high demand and are in a 6-12 month wait.

I went to my Lexus dealership to see a white LC 500 in person and they were driving a demo GX into the showroom. It’s absolutely beautiful. I need to see all the package deals though. They didn’t have much information yet

I actually really liked the look on the previous gen. And the swing door was pretty cool. Call me crazy. This one is really nice too though, not hating it one bit. Especially inside.

Our household is not currently in the car-buying market. We are happy with what we have right now. We think in 2 years we will be looking g to jump in. I enjoy the watching these videos to stay updated on the market. In two years we are thinking going EV (have a reservation for Rivian R2). I think 2028 will be our second car-buying cycle and 2030 being my final pre-retirement car purchase.
