I've noticed how commercials are now using more vibrant colors, even neon colors.
Understanding color psychology and the 7 chakras influence on perception and behavior I believe will be a big trend in video. Also the timing of scene changes are becoming more and more subliminal, the way a scene is flashed on the screen rapidly.

Pattern backgrounds. Need to look more into this about to rebuild my studio.

The reason transitions and grungy Maximalism are so big is because everyone’s trying to do video without actually being good at video so they hide their crappy footage with a bunch of transitions and overly. It’s not artistic is incompetence

Loved this. Affirms a lot of what I’m noticing as well. The foreground shots are a really interesting artistic idea to play around with.

Now that I'm retired I've decided to do wildlife videos. I see it as an extension of my lifelong passion for wilderness hiking/backpacking. That said, I saw very few of your trend predictions applying to wildlife videos. As I wrote that I asked, "why the hell not?". Wildlife video is its own thing, to be sure, but I think it would be fun to experiment with it more. Thank you, because this video has caused me to think creatively, and throw out that dusty old rule book.

If could suggest something, Jenn: You could help a lot of people who seem to be moving toward doing all their video production on phones by showing ways they can shoot horizontal/landscape video. I think you're right that Shorts haven't been too successful. But people have learned a lot of bad habits as a result of shooting them. "Just say No to vertical video." Know what I mean?

Hi Jenn I have been an editor for our Youtube channel ‘Our Journey on Pico Island” for the last three years and would like to increase my editing skills to another level. Where did you receive your education ?

I love your predictions. I am trying custom background music with my latest videos that contains original music, lyrics, and vocals customized to my educational theme. On a budget, I'm using Suno AI. These work with YouTube shorts. New technology to try out.

Jenn, good stuff. Love your video presentations. I agree with your observations, but am bearish on the Apple 3D technology. In my career, I've seen 3D rolled out several times over the many years with grand expectations, but at the end of the day, asking people to put on apparatus in order to view content has never worked. It's not a limitation of the technology, but rather a human issue. People won't make the effort to put it on—it's too much of a hassle to do every time. You also mentioned the motion sickness. I've seen that happen while people were watching 3D with goggles. Quick cuts - I am hoping that trend matures to a less "squirrel" type of editing style, though there is a time and place for them to build energy. Amazing Race would be a slow moving travel show if the cuts weren't half to one second long shots. It builds racing excitement by the fast cutting style, but not every show needs to be a race. Keep up the good work!

I hope we’re not moving to a place where people make everything on their phones.
