Leading worship is more than just singing through a list of songs. Leading worship requires being aware of what the Holy Spirit wants to do and where He wants to lead that specific group of people in that moment. For Gateway Conference 2021 pastors Jamie Whisenhunt, Michael Bethany, and David Moore sat down to talk about what it looks like to read a room and lead people in worship.

This is such an excellent teaching. Thank you for encouraging us to get in that private space with the Lord. It's like going into the dark room to develop a picture. The alone time is necessary to learn to hear His voice. Ty.

Such a great conversation by three people I deeply respect. One other thing that came to mind; the vision isn't only to lead people the Lord's presence for 20 minutes, but to lead them to a 24/7 life of worship. Every song we introduce to the rotation is a word of exhortation or encouragement and a call to relationship with Him for all the hours we aren't in church. No different from an evangelist, we're planting seed and the Lord will produce a harvest!

I love this teaching. But I love most, is intimacy with God is more individualized during the week, to be in tuned to the Holy Spirit. You can’t wait til church service to flow. (I may be saying it right) but I love this point. ❤
