This is actually a very smart💡idea. Cutting yourself from sugar is incredible hard. Sugar really is a drug.

Cutting soda was the hardest dietary removal. I'd cut gluten due to a suddenly realized violent intolerance way before pursuing a healthy diet, but i had immediate negative consequence to spur me on. Going keto was easy with "sugar free" sodas. But ripping off that final band aid was really tough.

A San Pellegrino with freshly squeezed lemon juice has been my "poison" for the last year.
Thanks for your great work and encouragement.

I started carnivore recently. I want you to know that this is the first time in months I have not wanted a soda. Its been 10 days.

I gave up sodas many years ago. Probably about 15-20 years ago. It happened when everyone began this water kick. And, sport water bottles increased in popularity. I realized I didn’t drink water. I drank coffee, iced tea or Coke or Sprite. I had a habit of drinking a can of Coke in the evening between supper and bedtime. I just never thought to drink water. So, I decided to drink the proverbial 8 glasses a day. But, I didn’t think clearly about it and I was drinking 8 BOTTLES (16.9 oz) . I had it mapped out throughout my day. Bottle #1 upon waking up. Bottle #2 on the hour long drive to work. Bottle #3 mid morning. Bottle #4 at lunch. Bottle number #5 mid afternoon. Bottle #6 on the drive home. Bottle #7 with supper. Bottle #8 about 2 hours before bedtime. I simply didn’t have time or room for soda. Then when I tried drinking a soda - it tasted weird. One day - it dawned on me how much water I was truly drinking. 🙄 I think that was about the time I began drinking tap water instead of bottled water. Our taps are well water - and we have filters on the house, kitchen sink and fridge. Now, I drink when I’m thirsty. I don’t aim for a specific target of ounces to drink.

OMG that's so true! Before I started watching I thought: "replace it with sparkly mineral water". I noticed I get cravings for that bubbliness and not so much for the sweetness. My favorite is sparkly water with lemon flavor (no sugar).

I love how you don’t mince your words!!! YES!!! It’s addictive toxic garbage!!!!

I’ve been doing this for years. Every now and again I crave a (sweet) soda 🥤 so I have some, adding only 1/4 of the glass with diet soda. The rest with sparkling water. It hits the spot and I’ve ingested only 1/4 of what I used to. Win-Win! 🙌🏼

I’m gonna try this and I pray 🙏 it works. I am a total soda junkie.

When I first stared the proper human diet I craved popcorn...then I realized it was the salty butter I actually craved!

Quit my soda addiction years ago, cold turkey, when I realized Dr pepper was all I was drinking 24/7. Lost 10 pounds 1st 2 weeks.

I’ve literally been doing carnivore for 2 months and have a diet soda addiction. Thank God for this. ❤ Dr Berry, appreciate you.

I did something similar to quit smoking. I removed one cigarette from what I would smoke in a day. After a week I cut down another cigarette until about 2 months in I was smoking one cigarette a day and in about another week in a half I wasn’t able to smoke a whole cigarette anymore. The nicotine was too much cuz my body was cleansing. Did this 25 years ago and never went back.

You're welcome, too, Dr Berry. Thank you for this tip.

👩💻🗯"You cause a person not to lose hope" . God bless you. I, don't have this problem but I know someone who health is in danger if they don't stop. I pray he listens.

I’ve cut my habit down to about 1 part Mt Dew in 8 parts regular water… can’t even stand the taste of full strength any more. I never though of using sparkling water. That might be the final push to help me cut it out altogether. 🤞🏻

Great idea however, I’m an all or nothing kinda person and had to go cold turkey. I only drink water and unsweetened tea now. Not easy but definitely worth it! 👍🏼
