This could BREAK the crucible, but NOBODY is using it...

The Coldheart was one of the first Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2 history, yet we have gone 7 years without it becoming the meta. It took until the Final Shape for me to try this weapon out in crucible and it's BROKEN. I thought I hated Trace Rifles since the Prometheus Lens left a bad taste in my mouth and made me think that Trace Rifles are bad in PvP. So I hesitated to used another Trace Rifle for years, but that was a huge mistake because the Coldheart could have carried me to Flawless in Trials of Osiris many times.

Hey thanks for the shoutout! :) yeah D2 foundry is completely incorrect for Prometheus. It doesn’t calculate the scorch damage at all if you look at the damage profile. The dev is aware of this and said it would take a year to fix lmao

The weapon continues to ramp damage for one second after the last hit. As long as you score another hit within that second, the damage ramping can continue. Prior to its arc 3.0 integration with ionic traces it used to be about a third of a second. This means that you can tap fire it for better ammo economy as well.

I'm back, it's cooking, I couldn't believe it. I'm pairing it with a Hung Jury to close the gap on an Omni Hunter. So much fun. Thank you Maven, you're awesome.

The reason why people usually don't use Trace Rifles like Coldheart in PvP especially not in Trials is that Trace Rifles use special ammo and for special weapons you are usually better off when you use one of the one hit insta kill weapons like Shotguns or Snipers. And the ammo is also quite limiting when you try to use it like a primary weapon

Last time I used a trace rifle in PvP was laser tag weekend with Prometheus Lens in 2017. 😂

I was at 100 res the whole time.(person on the also, cammy has made a few videos about knucklehead. He has encouraged it to be used for awhile now!

I think Prometheus lens is more popular because of the fact it applies scorch, which can massively boost dodge recharge rate for hunters, allowing for easy radiant procs, which also lowers the ttk a lot

Mavin, Agers Scepter and ice flare bolts. Super enabled catalyst beam melts in about 0.40. If I remember correctly. Pair with mantle of battle harmony.

Last time I used a trace rifle was when you could use it with stasis pre nerf, was an absolutely beastly combo

I've been using Cold Heart with Bakris for a loooong time. Highly recommend trying it out Maven. No one expects how much damage it pumps out. It's not always active like Nucklehead is but it's extremely potent after dodging. You can fly so far out from around corners and nuke people so quickly. An extremely aggressive and very fun play style, great for iron banana with the stasis super area denial as well.

For legendary, huge recommendation to the appetence, you can streak with it easily due to overflow or slideways and killing tally, allowing you to run around beaming people with a bit more consistency than the rest of the traces. Hollow denial is a slight downground due to not having the reload perk access that appetence has.

Warlock main here. I grabbed Coldheart on my Hunter with Prismatic. I just dodged to go radiant and was able to shred Guardians. You could do the same with solar Hunter I guess. Just saying you don't have to be tied to void to slay out with this gun

Why didn’t you use spark of beacons build for the cold heart? It’s a special arc weapon and you get ionic traces.

If you get time one day I’d like to see a little video on Lorentz driver, trying to finish out my dead eye title and I still need fusion rifle kills and trace rifle kills. Trying to find a good weapon to get em knocked out.

Knucklehead damage boost applies to 30%hp and below. It gives a 1 to 30% damage boost based off how low the enemy health is. If they have 15% hp, you're doing 15% more damage. If they're at 5%, you're doing 25% more. The damage boost applies to siva nanites and witherhoard for sure. I'm not sure about dragons breath since most of its damage is ignitions. Might look into that later. But yeah, try it with outbreak or witherhoard for champions. That last 30% bar goes pretty quick since you literally just keep doing more damage.

Ager's Scepter has saved my bacon on more than a few occasions, with the way it can freeze and stop everybody (once the catalyst is on it), so I'll have to respectfully disagree with you Maven about Coldheart being the best TR. Just wish Bungie could up the damage output on them

I think the main problem people have with trace rifles is their limited ammo. I wish you talked about that more.

Saying you suck at PVP and your crouch spamming every 1v1 is wild lol great video tho as always Maven W

I was on the wrong end of a trace rifle during iron banner matches last week when I was playing I guess during the slower times as one of the players I kept getting matched against was using retraced path or something like that, I think it's the dares of eternity trace rifle. I was getting bombed so quickly as soon as this guy was on my screen XD definitely changed my mind that trace rifles can dominate! Seeing this video makes me even more nervous once I'm gonna be on the wrong end of a coldheart LOL!
